The Fastest Indian - built by Sam Ballard & Jim Shula:

Our Farrier F-22 was partially built and originally owned by Sam Ballard.  As far as I know he was building the amas then contractually reached out to Saltwater Workshop in Maine (Jim Shula) to have the rest built.  The akas and structs kit was purchased through Farrier Marine.  The design by Ian Farrier was available as plans for home builds until September 2012.  I believe the Sail Plan number is 7.  Unfortunately I did not receive a copy of the plans with the boat.

To put it clearly without this F-22 being Sam Ballard's "The Fastest Indian", we wouldn't have a F-22.  I actually had a dream shortly after meeting Sarah that I would own a Farrier boat some day.  At the time looking up Farrier designs I didn't think it would be any day soon.  Throughout our journey through trimarans I was lucky to have Sarah by my side each step of the way.  I am very fortunate to say that without her there, being patient with my seemingly never-ending search that we wouldn't have ended up with our Kamehameha.

This page is a tribute to Sam Ballard for having this dream, and for our fortune to be able to have this opportunity to own this wonderful boat.
