Latest News 5/1/2017:

Our Farrier F22 has completed its first sea trail(for us - its new owners).  (formerly The Fastest Indian).

With long hours put in by Sarah and Bryan, we've done it!

The electrical system is complete.  The Mast Raising System V1.0 is complete and sea tested, flip ladder installed and tested.

On mast raising:

Major success!  This works well and is solo-able, Of course it is easier to have someone keep a lookup.  Just a few key points to look out for such as no lines being caught, when to focus on the gin pole, when to focus on the aft mast crutch etc.  With the mast bolt keeping a great centered point for raising and lowering, it truly is a breeze.

On Ian Farrier's latest design (F-22):

While I have never sailed a F boat before so I have nothing to compare it to, I have to say the design is top notch.  We weren't rushing, have only yard tested the system, and were in the water sailing in a little over an hour.  We raised the mast, put on the Main and Jib before hitting the water (empty public boat launch, so no rush), launched and just like the videos show, simply push out the amas, quickly bolt down the akas and off you go.  It is truly amazing coming from what I thought was a simple design in the Windrider 17, which is a great day-sailor but this design just blew all of our minds.  We took a short video and a few pre-sail picture, and will take more next time, but we were just trying to get out and test with our time running short before we'll be spending a week mostly on the boat. (Excuse the downhaul not being attached, we were just relaxing and trying to stay warm)

To-Do-List:

Highly desirable before honeymoon:

Forward berth bed trimmed down a bit to fit a bit better in V-berth and under anchor locket, replacing centerboard control lines, have something that can hold down the rudder from popping up, go to traditional Jib tacking (will have to go back to the drawing board for self tacking), jib furling line guides (snatch blocks worked very well), preparing and testing the Honda 5HP including fuel system,

Nice-to-haves after honeymoon:

Bimini, Screacher installed and tested

Completed since last update:

Transom ladder installed, Sarah got electrical system is complete. Our first sea trial made in a brisk 50F in light winds (7-12 MPH winds) on 4/30/2017.
